Quadratics are put into standard form by using your order of operations (PEMDAS) to expand the function. Then you square the binomial and then multiply the new trinomial by A. Then combine like terms.
Y=(x-2)^2+6
(x-2) (x-2)
x^2-2x-2x+4
x^2-4x+4+6= x^2-4x+10
hints: make sure to always follow the order of operations.
